Zig - Zag - Zig Again

Sunday 17 May

After a east-bound "zag" from Zion to SW Colorado, we are now "zig" ing again and westbound towards western Utah from Mesa Verde.  The external plumbing on the Funmobile survived the 28 degree night and we were toasty with a space heater on all night.  (Glad we weren't paying the eclectic bill.)

First stop was Lowry Pueblo northeast of Cortez CO.  Although a long ways out in the sticks, This is a well known and popular site with much of it "stabilized" in 1930, meaning new mortar placed between the stones to keep them from falling over and crushing tourists.  Interesting, but not particularly dramatic.

Kiva - Ceremonial structure.

Then back to Hovenweep to do their main canyon trail and for an overnight (4th one here this week).  Sunshine and comfortably warm today.

Anasazi Stew on the hoof.

Good Night from Hovenweep
